Bluegrass Planet Radio is excited to welcome, Linda Wright, host of "Fairly Rare Bluegrass Hour"!
Hailing from the Birthplace of Country Music, Bristol TN/VA native Linda Wright has been a broadcaster for the past 15 years on both terrestrial and internet Bluegrass radio. In the 2010 time frame, Linda worked on the television show, "Mountain Music Showcase" as the co-host, and took the audio from those shows and created radio content.
After moving on from Mountain Music Showcase, Linda began broadcasting on WOPI, Bristol's oldest station whose auxiliary station was located in the famous Grand Guitar building; a structure shaped like a giant, 70 foot long Martin Dreadnought acoustic guitar that sat along Interstate 81 in Bristol. While at WOPI, Linda developed a real estate information show, and also developed a show on WEHC in Emory Virginia that recognized "local" bands from around the globe, called "Local Grass Radio". Linda has also broadcast for the past 2 and a half years on WBCM Radio Bristol inside the Birthplace of Country Music Museum-a Smithsonian institution, in Bristol.
Linda is thrilled to be joining the incredible line up on Bluegrass Planet Radio and will host the "Fairly Rare Bluegrass Hour", a show featuring traditional Bluegrass every Sunday afternoon at 2pm ET beginning June 5, 2022.
